I was overwhelmed with old furniture and junk in my garage that has accumulated over the years. It was a mess to say the least. I did not even know where to start.

I contacted Red's Hauling Service initially to remove some of the larger pieces: tv stand, refrigerator, mattress, etc.

They were fast. I was able to set up an appointment within a week's timeframe.

Red arrived with his crew. He personally managed the project. He was professional, smart, knowledgeable, and kind.

He definitely saw the garage was a disaster and I didn't know what to do. He talked me through it and helped me make decisions.

In addition to removing everything needed they even organized it, and swept it out. Life changing. Now it is clean and there is room to walk in it.

I highly recommend this service. It is also a family owned and operated business. Red's son was the team lead and worked very hard to get everything the way I wanted it. They definitely exceeded my expectations.

After reading all of the 5 star reviews, we hired Red's to clean out my Mom's house. After 40 years in house, it was a big job that we thought would take two days. Red and his crew knocked it out in one day.

The previous positive reviews are accurate. I was looking for a way to get rid of my old grill. I emailed a picture with my location and asked for an estimate at 6pm. I received a response by the time I woke up, (the cost was 50% less than another estimate I received), told them I wanted to proceed and gave them my address and contact info. Within two hours I received a text with a picture of the grill in their truck and a request to call with payment info. It was so easy and they were very professional and responsive. I would highly recommend them and would use their services again!

Because of the good Yelp reviews, I had Red's come out to get rid of a bunch of furniture. Red's son came out with a helper. They were very respectful, made sure to not scratch anything, and got lots of stuff out of my place. They did a great job. The price was very reasonable. The only possible con to it was they came a half an hour earlier than they said they would. You know, I was going to call 1-800 got junk. But I really wanted to use a local business and I'm so happy I did. I'd use them again in a heartbeat!

Red's is awesome! I needed to have a queen size box spring and heavy mattress removed. I called today around 2pm and they were at my place within 30 minutes. The price was good too! A lot better than other places I looked into. I'm so happy I found them because I live on the 2nd floor and it's hard to carry heavy things downstairs. Thanks Yelpers for leading me to Red's! This is about as good as it gets. Seriously. I emailed and received a quick reply on a quote when I sent a picture. I had construction debris that the various contractors never took with them and left me holding the bag(s). Literally.

Red called me and said I will be there in the morning - his team of locusts showed up and poof! it all disappeared. The cost was on par with others that quoted the job. They were thoughtful on how they handled the space and swept up the gang way as they went out the door.

Red and his crew were referred to me by Sam Pearson of Chestnut Cleaning. I hate moving; I'm disorganized; and have way too much "stuff". Between Red and Sam they made a potentially very difficult clean-out of my late daughter's apartment efficient and effective. Everything that could go wrong did: it was a full moon (well, it didn't help!); I lost the keys to my daughter's apartment for the first time in five months; was late showing up; had to get the janitor to let us in. In the meantime, her apartment building had "secretly" scheduled major facade work to begin on the day of the move. Parking nightmares; huge trucks everywhere; mortar and bricks falling from the sky; but Red and his crew were patient, sympathetic, and took good care of the job and of me. (It was a hot day: Red offered me chilled water for hydration and bananas for potassium, which he carried in his truck for his crew.) Very able; very personable; and these guys give the impression that they have met every conceivable problem in the course of their work, and have solved them all. I felt I was in good hands for the entire six hours they worked. It's a pleasure to add to their consistent "5 star" record. Well done!!!

I've lived in my home for 40 years and my front crawl space was full of wood and building material. It was a huge undertaking. These guys never complained just worked hard to get the job done. These guys really came to the rescue after another hauler did not show up. We had a substantial amount of junk after clearing our basement following a flood. They came on very short notice, and cleaned it all out while my family was at dinner. We were moving out of our house and the closing was in 2 hours. We were in a bind as we had furniture that we thought we could give away or sell but could not. We called Red's and they came to the house in less than an hour and removed it all plus other garbage for a very reasonable rate. I highly recommend Red's.

We had a very last minute furniture removal job and found Red's Hauling services. They were very accommodating with our schedule, considering they were operating outside of their normal hours on Saturday night!

We had one twin mattress, two bed frames, and three dressers moved within a manner of 15 minutes (we live on the first floor).

The two man crew were very kind and respectful- I opened the door for them and one of them shook my hand to introduce himself. I've worked with a number of moving companies and not one of them have ever offered to shake my hand and say hello, ask how my day was.

Red (owner) was also on site as well. He was very easy to talk to and time passed by so quickly. Also, he made sure to tell the crew to take it easy and make sure they were safe in carrying/lifting items. That's a great manager- reminding staff to take care of themselves in hauling stuff.

I would highly recommend this business. Their service was professional and efficient. They picked up our furniture within the hour and sent us a photo to confirm they picked up the correct items. The service was a little higher than the city pick up price, but I would gladly use them again for their promptness and customer service.

My late parents were, at the very least, "pack-rats" or, I guess, what some call "hoarders" these days. At the recommendation from Diane Hudec Estate Sales, we used Red's. initially, to remove a lot of unsellable garbage and then get rid of all the remaining junk (and believe me, there was still a lot) left after the estate sale and what was taken as a donation to the Salvation Army. They did an excellent job and charged what I thought was a fair and reasonable price. "Red" worked with me personally as to what I wanted done and even offered suggestions. His "team" took care of more than I thought was possible. Also, left the house clean and even went the extra mile power washing some stains off a sidewalk leading to the back door.

Hence, I highly recommend Red's and don't think you will go wrong with them both in service and price.

These guys are awesome! I recently had the responsibility of getting a house in Logan Square cleaned out that had belonged to my family for 125 years, and I swear nothing ever left it in that time! The crew they sent was hardworking, fast, respectful of my property, and just dug in and got the job done even though some of the stuff in the basement was pretty gross. They have a great system where much of the junk and appliances gets taken to the appropriate place for reuse or recycling, it doesn't all just go to a landfill. They got tacos for lunch and shared with me, and were just the nicest, most diligent group of workers I ever had the privelege of hiring/working with. I will use them again later this year I think when I'll have a smaller job of stuff to haul away.

After having Salvation Army come out to tell me that they wouldn't be able to accept my sofa, I wanted to find a same day solution to get it out of my apartment. I found Red's on Yelp and noticed the great reviews. I called and spoke to Red who gave me a quote that was FAR less than all of the other junk services I called. They came the same day within 20 minutes! They employees they sent out to my apartment were very kind. It was such a simple and quick process! I would most definitely recommend Red's!

I did a search for haulers and this was the only one that caught my eye for high ratings. I had a contractor who failed to clean up his own mess and a 10 foot pile of wood and construction trash that needed to be hauled out.

I called at 10 am and the owner was very pleasant. I have a vision of trash haulers as the gruff types. He actually took a call during ours and I was a bit annoyed, but he called promptly back and arranged to send his crew to the address for a quote that afternoon.

Sure enough, the crew scoped out the trash and gave me a quote. I thought the price was ok, but remembering that prior calls to 1-800-JUNK and those level of companies was exorbitant, I really thought the price was reasonable, especially given how responsive they were.

I gave the ok and the job was done. How many places offer same day service???

I am waiting on pictures (I don't live at the place where the trash was hauled) and will change my rating if I don't feel the job was done well, but my hunch is they did a great job.

My parents' house was sold and had to be completely cleaned out. We had originally called a big-name junk service but we were unhappy with their service that morning (they only sent one truck and would take several hours to return for a second run).
I had researched Red's, and we were desperate to get the house cleaned out that day, so I took a chance and gave Red a call. He came over in 30 minutes, and was able to get the job done at a reasonable price.
My only regret is that we didn't hire Red's in the first place (my SIL was in charge of this...).

I was initially impressed by his video, I just had a feeling he WAS the right guy for the job. He came to give an estimate in Wilmette and I was surprised he brought 2 trucks, he was ready to GO. His initial estimate was right in line with what I had hoped for and much less than the competition, I agreed to go ahead RIGHT THEN and let him do the job. He also did extra work for no extra charge! His Employees were friendly and VERY professional. They even cleaned up, which I had not expected. These guys are fantastic. I wish I could find more businesses like this in Chicago. I called Red about 2 hours ago to have my countertops and removed. Much to my surprise, they said they could be here in an hour. They were here in about 45 minutes. In under 2 hours from my call, they disconnected the plumbing and removed all the counters and sink. Workers were friendly and clean. Truly a 5 star operation.

Seriously amazing. I had a smallish/medium load of stuff, but it was still a lot, in my opinion. They showed up exactly on time. 2 of the gentlemen came in and removed everything within 15 minutes. I called on a Friday, and the next morning two taciturn men came to my apartment during the appointed time range, picked up our broken furniture, and walked out the door with it in exchange for a fistful of cash. It is the easiest imaginable way to get rid of clutter.

They didn't call before showing up (which they were supposed to do) and it was a little more expensive than I would have liked, but as between reliable and cheap -- I will pick reliable.

Red did a large project for a disabled friend of mine and personalized the project to the customer. Red has a lot of empathy and even professional authority with his clients. This is an excellent service. In this project I felt that Red was sent by angels.

While clearing out our parents' house of 48 years, we came upon a lot more clutter then we thought we had! Red and his crew were at the house within 30 minutes, negotiated an extremely fair price, and began the arduous task ahead of them with smiles on their faces! Red called for a couple more trucks and crew members and the job was done quickly! I highly recommend Red as he was kind, compassionate to our situation, and had a good sense of humor! We needed that! His crew also swept up all the rooms and even cleared the backyard of clutter! Do not hesitate to call Red for all your junk removal needs!

Great experience. These guys are fast, diligent, and careful. They are great at what they do and very courteous. The only thing that keeps me from giving a 5 star review is the price. Three guys, 45 minutes, $500. If I had shopped around more, I'm sure I could have found a better deal. They said, they did a fantastic job and I was very happy with the experience.

I was looking to have a queen mattress hauled away, and fairly quickly. Called about 11:30 and was mattress free by noon. Red said he was just a little bit away, and came right over! Faster than I could have imagined. Quick, efficient, and helpful.

I had some old furniture that I was hoping to donate to Brown Elephant. Alas, when the crew arrived they refused to take the sofa due to its poor condition (not their fault, and they couldn't have been nicer about it). As I've already moved 20 miles away and don't always have a car at my disposal, coming back to my old place time and time again is a big hassle and I really needed to offload this sofa quickly (like, today). Red's to the rescue! I called them and they had a truck over here in about 20 minutes flat. I paid through the nose but hey, time is money too, and they got in & out in less than 15 minutes. Very satisfied customer!

I called Red's based on all the great Yelp reviews and, as expected, am glad I did! When life hands you a 32-inch tube TV that weighs as much as a person that you can't get rid of when moving out of state, you have your movers take it to the alley. And when your landlord tells you 5 days later that no one took it (probably because they couldn't lift it), you call Red's. I called this morning, explained the situation, and had a call back from Red himself within an hour of my call telling me the TV had been picked up. Fast, efficient, affordable, and great customer service. Definitely will be recommending!

What a great service company! Someone had dumped a ton of old furniture in the alley next to our dumpster. The garbage company that we use would have charged us so much more to pick it up and wouldn't be able to make it out till the end of the week. Red's came out the day I called and did it for such a great price! Very friendly and easy to work with.

Red's answered my call arranged to come at a convenient time for me.  Two guys showed up right on rime and removed about 6 pieces including a big old metal desk which they took apart quickly so it wouldn't damage anything on the way our.  They were efficient and polite and very helpful.  They are the best!

I wanted to get rid of my 27" Sony Trinitron console TV after it died of old age (15 years!). I did some research on internet on how to do it and decided to drop it off  at a  Best Buy store. Unfortunately I  experienced a bad back problem and gave up the idea. I tried internet again and this time I found about Red's and saw the wonderful reviews. I called them on a holiday,described the job and the fact that our apartment was on a high floor with elevator service.  Red(?)  immediately gave a quote on the phone ($50) which was what I had estimated as a reasonable fee.

I was told that they would be at the apartment in 30 minutes. I received the call I had asked them to place when they were 5 minutes away so I could be on the alley to meet them, after 20 minutes. They completed the job under 5 minutes. The service was excellent.

Red's Hauling Services saved me when I was in a serious bind.  I am having a new couch delivered and had finally gotten all the necessary timing and logistics taken care of (frieght elevators reserved, removal scheduled, delivery scheduled, all within a tight 4 hour time frame).  Well, it was perfectly scheduled until my removal guy cancelled on me.  I'm very type A when it comes to this sort of thing so naturally I started freaking out about potentially having two couches in my already small studio apartment.  I called a few moving/junk removal companies and so far no one could help me out on such short notice, until I called Red's.  I didn't even have to finish explaining my situation, Red just asked for my address and said they would be there within the hour.  Sure enough, his guys showed up about 20 minutes later and removed my sleeper sofa!  I'm back on track and waiting for my new couch to arrive as we speak.  What a life saver!  Red wasn't the cheapest quote I received, but definitely the most reliable, and for someone who freaks out having their apartment in shambles, the money was worth it to me to just have my job taken care of right away.

Red gave an estimate that was below what the job turned out to be. When he came in the truck to give an estimate, he had a crew ready to roll and three hours later, the huge cleanout job was finished. These guys have strong backs!

They are the best.  They come on time, are very flexible as to pickup times.  Clean up everything.  Not a bad price.

I called Red based on his positive Yelp reviews and am I glad I did.  My "moving needs" were small; pick up a couch in Lincoln Square, deliver it to Edgewater and  remove a 300 ton Sony Trinitron (remember those?) and an old sleeper couch from said Edgewater residence. We talked, I explained, he got it and gave me an estimate, which was very reasonable.  Red and his 2 workers showed up on time, did what they do with muscled carefulness, and an hour later everything was moved and/or carried away.  Red, btw, is a character and our conversation roamed freely between acupuncture to recycling to the cost of hydraulic brakes.  Big Red rocks reliability.  I highly recommend him.

Awesome customer service. I had a huge job to do, dealing with hauling and breaking concrete. Red came to take a look and told me that it was probably cheaper if I get a concrete contractor to do the work. These guys were awesome - called Saturday morning, by Saturday afternoon they had given me an estimate, came over to Wrigleyville as a Cubs game was getting out, and hauled out some old furniture in the middle of all the craziness. They were really professional and friendly.

We had a great experience with Red yesterday. We needed to get rid of a large sectional couch, and wanted to do it in a hurry. Called Red and left a message. He called us back within 15 minutes and said he could show up within the hour. His crew showed up in about 20 minutes and quickly took everything out for us. They were professional and courteous, and about an hour after leaving the message, everything was gone. Highly recommend Red!!

Wow. I was totally panicking because my floors were going to be refinished and I had furniture I couldn't get rid of. I had called a thrift store to come take my furniture but there were several pieces they wouldn't take because they were too damaged, stained, or whatever. What to do what to do... floor refinishers are coming and there is still furniture on the floor!!! Red's to the rescue... they came when I asked them to and were in and out in ten minutes - fast efficient workers, polite, friendly, and a decent price. I'd use them again in a second.

I don't even like using five stars in a review. These guys were truly superior. I called on a late Tuesday afternoon asking for help with a significant sized job. Red says, "how about tomorrow morning?" Wow. I wake up to a foot of snow knowing Red's crew can't drive the trucks and work in those conditions. Wrong. They were there 15 minutes early. I love strong characters. Red's oldest son led the assault, Peter, the man with the anglo name and strong Latino looks was #2, bringing up the rear was Red's youngest son (he has five which includes an adopted son). Son #1, okay, get your asses moving, youngest son ingeniously propping a heavy door, "wait man, if you let me do this, we will save time and trouble. Peter, without saying a word, "you guys figure it out and he hits off his Coca Cola. These guys are quick, clean, respectful to others. I also got an incredibly great deal. I work at a university in Chicago and if I ever have the chance and influence will find all the work these guys can handle. In my case good means good. Superior means better than anyone else. I had a great experience with Red's Hauling. The guys were speedy and did the work to my satisfaction. I hired Red's to clean out the garage just prior to selling my home, and I don't think the garage was ever that clean! They even helped carry stuff I was bringing with me to my car. I'm very happy I called Red's and would do it again in a heartbeat.

After trying without success to find a moving company willing to transport just a few items from my storage space to my new apartment (at a reasonable rate), my boyfriend suggested that I call Red's Hauling Services. I am so glad I did! Not only were they extremely professional, they went above and beyond the call of duty. I was expecting them to simply transport my items (which consisted of a queen bed and a dresser) to my new space. They helped me unload several other items that I had already loaded into my SUV, they set up the bed and frame and arranged it several different ways before I settled on the perfect spot. They unwrapped and reattached the (very large) mirror to my dresser and disposed of all trash/wrappings. Again, I did not expect this because Red's is a hauling service--not your standard moving company. Here's the icing on the cake -- I was having trouble backing my SUV into the garage (very tight squeeze, but doable with a little practice on my part), and one of the movers parked it for me and gave me a quick lesson on the easiest way to get it done. It's much less intimidating now. He also gave me some excellent advice on how to repair my dresser, which sustained some minor (but noticeable) cosmetic damages just a few weeks after purchase. I think he may have saved me $300! I would definitely check with Red's first, whether its for a small move or transporting a few items, but definitely for any and all hauling services!

Called Red's after calling numerous other places to clean out a couple things out of my garage (Not my stuff, previous owner left behind. I'm not a hoarder I swear!).  He gave me a quote and said he could be there tomorrow.  I asked if he could come today and he said he would call me back.  He called me back within 10 minutes and said that he would have someone there in 1-2 hours.  

They gave me a call an hour later to make sure I was home.  They loaded all the items in the truck in about 10 minutes and they were on their way.  Amazing experience and well worth the very fair quote they gave me.  Will definitely use again and highly recommended.

Red flat out kicks butt. After a couple weeks of moving into our new home, we had a garage full of both moving junk and junk the previous owners left behind. I had no prior experience with junk removal, so I called 1800-got-junk as it was the only place I knew. What a mistake. They were "trying" to get my on the schedule for the following week. Sorry, but when you need junk removal you want it done yesterday.

Enter Red. I call him, leave a message. He calls back 5 minutes later and is in my alley 30 minutes later. We agree on price, and 30 minutes later my garage is empty. Boom. done.

I just moved to Chicago and I had around 50 good sized boxes along with all of the packing paper that I needed removed.  I called Red's and he was at my place in 10 minutes.  The job was done in 30 minutes.  What a relief and well beyond my expectations in terms of the responsiveness to the work I needed done.  I'm so glad I called!  It's been a really difficult relocation for me rife with mistakes and logistical problems beyond my control, but at least one thing was easy!

Absolutely the best.  What a delight to work with Red.  I spoke with him initially to get a quote and arrange for a pick up.  No voice mail - a real person.  The price was fantastic and quite a bit lower than other quotes I got.  The guys came as scheduled and were very friendly.  Took them no time to remove my very old console television.  I would call them any time I have other stuff to have hauled away.  Trustworthy and honest.

Red is the real deal - reasonable prices and great service. Our junk was gone less than 4 hours after we called him. His crew even dug out an old basketball pole. We were very pleased and tipped his crew accordingly.

Wow, I am impressed. I called Red's to help move some items out of my mother's house.  Turns out I have hoarder blood in my veins!!  My dad kept everything!!!  Anyway, Red's arrived and moved everything into their truck. They even swept my garage  clean!  Will be calling this service again next month for Phase 2.

I have used Craig's List several times to find contractors to haul away construction debris from a home remodeling project I am working on.    I have had issues every time.  I searched Yelp and found Red's.  I called them and they immediately came out to give me an estimate which was very fair.  They brought a large crew and plowed through the rubble and cleaned out a 20x20 garage full to the brim with debris.  I asked them to take a few extra very heavy pieces of concrete scrap and they did so for a nominal charge.

Very nice guys, professional, fair.  I would hire them again in a minute!

We are moving our mother from Chicago to Michigan. The house has been in the family for over 50 years and my uncle, who came down with dementia, had lived there since it was built. He was a hoarder. A serious hoarder. We called Red on a Wednesday and he came out on Thursday to give us a free estimate. He was courteous, compassionate, and entirely reasonable in his price. That Thursday he moved my grandmother's couches, which were dry rotted because they had been covered in plastic for decades. He told us that he would return on Saturday to do the serious hauling.

Red, James, Primo, Peter, and Lawrence arrived at 9am and were done by noon. They went above and beyond anything that we had expected. They were fast, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. They checked constantly to make sure that they were taking only what was requested. The thing to understand about these types of situations is that people like Red must function somewhere between hard-headed practicality and grief counselor. He does that seamlessly.

We would recommend them and use them again.

I have used Red's Hauling twice.  The second time they demolished my basement after water damage.  The price was very reasonable.   Work was fantastic and quick.  They left the basement incredibly clean and re-hung all the conduit and boiler pies. I tried to donate a sofa to charity and after waiting a week for them to come for pick up they decided my down cushion sofa wasn't nice enough to take.  I called Red's and spoke with Red he came within 3 hours to pick up sofa at a fraction of the expense of 1-800 junk!  Red accompanied his people on the removal, was gracious and considerate of property throughout the removal process.  I would not go anywhere else in the future for similar service.

Needed to finish clearing out the last of the stuff in my parent's basement to prepare the house for sale. We called Red's Hauling because of the great reviews on Yelp and other sites. We were getting ready to move in 3 days and while we had all the moving logistics worked out the one remaining item was an old large couch that had been sitting on the back porch of our 2nd floor walk-up for months.

I was looking around for some way to dispose of it, It was too heavy for my girlfriend and I to carry downstairs and haul out to the alley and hope someone would come and take a very beat up couch . I stumbled on Red's and based off the reviews from the Google search I gave him a call.

Red is a very nice guy who told me he was close by and could come get it in 45 minutes. The price he quoted me was very reasonable and being able to have it taken away that day was a huge bonus. The whole process from initial call to pickup took less than 1 hour.

Red's hauling was very reasonably priced and the team was very friendly. The owner was quick to return my phone call (within the hour), and gave me the best deal around. I live alone and had to move across the country for my job. I had to clear out my apartment here, and basically pack up my car and go.

I read the reviews on Yelp and decided to use Red's Hauling.  I called them on Tuesday morning to set up an appointment for Saturday, but things changed and I called them back to ask if they could come that day at 4:30 pm.  They were there on time and the young men they employ were very courteous and professional and had my old sleeper sofa and love seat out of my apartment within 5 minutes, and the price was very reasonable.  I highly recommend Red's Hauling.

These guys are amazing, and totally saved me! I had them come out once to get rid of a bunch of crap, as I was getting ready to put my house on the market. Lo and behold, the place sold quickly, so I called them in a slight panic a week before closing after realizing i had too much junk to get rid of myself. They came by 2 days later, hauled everything out quickly, cleaned out the freezer, AND did an amazing job of taking everything out of the garage and sweeping it up - I hardly recognize it! It almost makes me want to stay, ha ha. Red and his crew are  great, totally reliable - no need to look anywhere else.

I has first called the 1-800-JUNK place but they couldn't take my same or next-day request.  So I found these guys and I had a great experience.

They picked up my couch the same day, came when they said they would, and were very polite. Two teens boys moved my old couch and I got the impression it was their family sitting in the truck. They had just come from soccer or something, so they accommodated my same day request even on their day off! (I felt a little bad when I figured that one out!).

Very reasonable price - $100 for removing my couch from a 3rd floor walkup. I never know what to tip for these things, but I gave them $20.

The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because they got a couple marks on the walls on their way down. It's a large couch and they were trying to be careful, no biggie. When I hire them again I'll just ask them to be more aware of knocking the walls.  Go local and support this great team!

Yelp for the win!  After reading several reviews of local hauling business and 1-800-GOT-JUNK I opted to go with Red's.  They did an amazing job of clearing out all furniture and miscellaneous junk that lived in my garage and basement and a reasonable and honest price.  For you junk hauling needs, go with Red's.  I will never think to go elsewhere ever again.
